FEPD in english


English americanDuring the First National Congress of Sport Psychology, held in Barcelona in 1986, the commitment of working in the creation of a Federation that will gather the different regional associations was acquired. The Spanish Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPD)  was created in 1987 and it was firstly joined by the already existing associations.

The first association was created in Cataluña (1983). After this, País Vasco (1986), Valencia (1986), Cantabria (1986), Andalucía (1987), Galicia (1988), Castilla-León (1990), Murcia (1993), Madrid and Extremadura (2003), and more recently Aragón (2014) and Canarias (2016).

The FEPD is a member of the International Society of Sport Psychology (ISSP) and  the European Federation of Sports Psychology (FEPSAC), in which it actively works as a full-right member.

The FEPD organizes every two years together with one of the regional associations a National Congress with the participation of national and international experts:

During its history, the Spanish Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPD) has also published on its own the following:

1- The FEPD publishes a yearly bulletin with the objective of exchanging information among the different associations members and to act as link among their members. ((click here to access the bulletin)

3- The University of the Balearic Islands, with the auspices of the FEPD, publishes the Revista de Psicología del Deporte (RPD),the first journal in Spanish on this topic.

A second journal, Cuadernos de Psicología del Deporte, began to published  by the University of Murcia in 2001.

More recently (2006) has appeared the Revista Iberoamericana de Psicología del Ejercicio y el Deporte (RIPED).
